Accepting Leads Via Text Messaging
It is important to respond to online leads as quickly as possible, right? Up until now, LeadStreet has made it difficult to accept and respond to leads when agents were not in front of a computer. Before, you could get a text message notification telling you that a lead was awaiting your acceptance, but you couldn’t accept it.
Now you can accept those leads via text messaging. You don’t need a fancy mobile device, just one that accepts and sends SMS text messages.
RE/MAX International offers a quick, 8 minute tutorial on setting up Lead Acceptance via Text Messaging. You’ll have to login to see the video so I’ve attached a quick screen shot that will do in a pinch (but you will have to login anyways to make the changes).
First login to Mainstreet and then access LeadStreet. Click on the menu item at the top called “My LeadStreet” and select “My Agent Options”. Follow these steps.
Step 1.) Enter your cell phone number and select your cell phone provider. Type only numbers.
Step 2.) Click “Enable Lead Acceptance via Text Messaging”.
Step 3.) Click ” Accept Terms of Use”.
Step 4.) Back to the top of the page and click one of the save buttons. (more steps below the diagram)

Step 5.) You should get a text message on your phone that says:
Send ‘Yes’ to confirm accepting leads via SMS. Txt STOP to opt out of RE/MAX Lead Alerts or HELP for help. Other charges may apply.
Hit ‘reply’ on your phone, type ‘yes’, and send. You should get another text message that says:
Thanks for joining RE/MAX Lead Alerts. All lead notifications and acceptance will be through SMS. STOP to opt out. Other charges may apply.
Step 6.) That’s it! You are setup. The next lead you get will come through your phone via a text message. Simple hit reply, type in ‘accept’, and hit send. You will get a confirmation text with the leads name, email, and phone number. Call them ASAP!
A few things:
- You can still accept leads via email or by logging on to your LeadStreet account from a computer.
- “Other charges may apply” refers to the fees your cell phone provider may charge for text messaging.
