RIMS Training 101

Introduction

RIMS can do many things to help you grow your business online. It is not, however, the silver bullet that will turn you into a mega-agent and it is not a complete replacement for robust contact managers like Top Producer or Agent360. Still, it offers powerful tools that combine MLS data and client contact management in one simple interface. Think of it as one of the more powerful tools in your bag that will gradually increase your yearly transactions.

I tell new agents to expect 1-3 additional transactions per year from RIMS if they do nothing and just let the system work for them. If they add their own contacts or leads, transactions will dramatically increase.

RIMS provides a lead capturing website to every RE/MAX agent in the region. RIMS also routes leads directly to you through remax.com and remax-carolina.com. RE/MAX Executive provides an additional source of leads to our agents by marketing charlotteproperty.com.

Leads can then be sorted into groups and be assigned campaigns. RIMS provides a contact manager so you can record interactions with individual clients. It provides a listing manager that you can use to enhance your listings by adding additional (or larger) photos, floor plans, virtual tours, and more.

Setting up your account

Your first website address will be yourLoginName.remax-carolina.com so choose a good login (Note: only an admin can change this.) If your login is bill, your website is bill.remax-carolina.com (Ask me why this is a good thing.) Beyond the login name, here’s a list of the important stuff on setup:

  • Contact Info (especially email & MLS IDs)
  • Zip Codes
  • Instant Acceptance
  • Photo
  • Domains

Leads and what to do with them

You can accept leads through the website, via email, or text message to your phone. You can configure RIMS to automatically begin campaigns when you accept a lead. We will create some basic groups and assign leads to those groups. We will also configure RIMS to start sending email campaigns to your leads. Then, we will access an individual lead’s information and setup a client gateway-like search. Lastly, we will create a test dummy lead. (Ask me why.)

Listings

It is important that you take control of your listings (ask me why). You can also set which listings appear on your RIMS site. We will use the listing manager to upgrade some photographs, add a virtual tour, and make it more noticeable. We will also use the listing manager to generate a seller report.
